Terry Lake is British Columbia’s Minister of Health.
Prior to entering provincial politics, Lake was heavily involved at the municipal level. He served as a city councillor in Kelowna for three years, before being elected as mayor from 2005 to 2008.
Lake is a trained veterinarian, and ran his own practice before entering politics. He is well-respected in that field, and has served as Vice-President of the World Small Veterinary Association. He has also been recognized by the BC Veterinary Medical Association, winning the Award of Merit.
Previously, Lake served as Minister of Environment. He has also served on the Select Standing Committees for Aboriginal Affairs, Health, and Legislative Initiatives.
Lake is a former Vice-President of the Union of BC Municipalities and a former President of the Coquitlam Rotary Club.
