Stephane Lauzon is the Liberal Member of Parliament for Argenteuil-La Petite-Nation. He was elected to the House of Commons in 2015. He has been named the Parliamentary Secretary for Sport and Persons with Disabilities.
Before running for Parliament, Lauzon served as a municipal councillor with the City of Gatineau, elected in November 2009. In his capacity as councillor, he worked on the capital property and budget committee, the standing committee on housing and the committee on seniors, among others. He served as chair of the Sports, Recreation and Community Life committee and was vice-chair of the 2015 Jeux de la francophonie.
Having worked at Canadian International Paper in the 1980s, he decided to return to school in 1992 to complete a teaching certificate. He went on to work in the field of vocational training for over 20 years. He managed construction projects at a company that he started, in addition to his duties as municipal councillor. Currently, he is working towards a Bachelor’s of Business Administration at Université du Québec en Outaouais.
Lauzon is the father of three children.
