Sherry Romanado was first elected to the House of Commons in 2015, and now serves as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence. She is also the Vice-Chair of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group, and Counsellor on the executive of the Canadian NATO Parliamentary Association (NATO PA). Additionally, Romanado is a member of the Canada-China Legislative Association, the Canada-France Interparliamentary Association, and the Canada-Germany Interparliamentary Group.
Romanado has over 15 years of experience working in administrative functions in the public and private sectors. She has a certificate in public relations from McGill University, and completed her MBA at Concordia in 2011. She has held various positions at McGill University including Manager, International Advancement and Policy in the department of Development and Alumni Relations.
Most recently Romanado held the position of Assistant Director, International Partnerships at McGill. She has specialized in public relations, international relations and operations management. She is a member of the Société québécoise des professionnels en relations publiques and the Canadian Public Relations Society.
As an engaged citizen Romanado is highly involved in her community. She is vice president and Director of Communications for the cadet corps CCG 1979 Centennial at Greenfield Park, as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (local 94) and the Greenfield Park Lions Club. She is also the vice president of the Laporte Provincial Liberal Association and the LeMoyne Federal Liberal Association.
Born and raised in LeMoyne, Romanado chose to raise her family in the riding and is the proud mother of two sons who are members of the Canadian Forces.
