Scott Duvall is the New Democratic Party Member of Parliament for Hamilton Mountain. He was first elected to the House of Commons in 2015. He has been named the party’s critic for Pensions and for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.
Duvall has lived and worked in Hamilton Mountain for two decades. In his nine years as a Hamilton City Councillor he was a strong advocate for safer neighbourhoods with accessible sidewalks and parks, decent roads and sewers, better transit, and more affordable housing.
Duvall also played a key role in helping the Challenger Baseball League find a permanent home park.
As a board member of the Concession Street BIA, he listened to small business owners’ concerns and worked with them to find solutions.
Duvall served on the board of directors for the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton. He is also a supporter of Hamilton Food Share, Mountain Kidz Klub and the Neighbour to Neighbour Centre.
Before entering politics, Duvall was a steelworker and president of his local union; he helped save hundreds of jobs and pensions at Stelwire during the bankruptcy and subsequent sale of Stelco Inc.
Scott and his wife Sherry are proud parents of three daughters and grandparents of two.
