Ramez Ayoub is the new Liberal MP for Thérèse-De Blainville.
Ayoub has been a prominent political and civil society actor in his community for over a decade. He graduated from the Université de Montréal with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. After a career as a real estate broker, he turned his attention to public life, serving as a city councillor for over a decade. In 2009 became Mayor of Lorraine.
As a member of the Chamber of Commerce for Thérèse-De Blainville, as well as Bois-des-Filion and Lorraine, he was the recipient of the Person of the Year award in 2013 and a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012. He is a strong advocate for economic development, helping further that cause as a member of the of Montréal international Board of Directors.
Ayoub served on several other boards in his community, working to reduce crime and increase public safety. He served as the Deputy Prefect of the Regional County Municipality for Thérèse-De Blainville, as well as Chair of the ThérèseDe Blainville inter-municipal police board since 2014.
Ayoub’s name was mentioned twice during the Charbonneau Commission in 2013 concerning financing for his 2009 mayoral campaign, but no charges were ever laid.
