The new MP for Charlesbourg–Haute­Saint­Charles, Pierre Paul­Hus, has been named the Conservative Party’s associate critic for National Defence.

A military training officer (reserve), Paul­-Hus is a graduate of the Canadian Army Command and Staff College in Kingston, Ontario and the École Militaire in Paris where he also did some teaching. He served for 22 years in the Régiment de la Chaudière reserve unit of the Canadian Armed Forces.

During his time in the reserves Paul­-Hus conducted two operational missions, one in Goose Bay, Labrador and one in Cyprus.

Paul­-Hus has a degree in political science from Laval University. Before being elected he was vice-­president and general manager of Global Selections List ­ Canada, the largest wine competition in North America. He is also the owner of PRESTIGE Media Group, and publishes PRESTIGE magazine.
