Michel Boudrias

Bloc Québécois

Before being elected as the Bloc MP for Terrebonne, Michel Boudrias was a member of the Canadian Forces. Boudrias served as an infantry officer in Afghanistan with the Royal 22nd Regiment, better known as the Van Doos.

During his time in Afghanistan he served as a member of Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team working to train Afghan army recruits. He says the experience has given him an appreciation of Canada’s democracy.

Before his tour of duty, Boudrias was a member of the reserves and the president of his union local.

He has said that his main priority is the Energy East pipeline, and he also wants to work with municipalities.

Boudrias is a lifelong sovereignist and got involved in politics after the 1995 referendum.

In 2013 he received a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his service.
