Joël Lightbound



The new Member of Parliament for Louis-­Hébert was born and raised in the riding he now represents. Lightbound is the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health.

Lightbound graduated from McGill Law School earning degrees in both civil and common law. He is working on his Master’s degree in Information Technology Law, specializing in internet privacy at the Université de Montréal. After graduating from McGill, Lightbound worked as an articling student with the Montreal law firm Fasken Martineau DuMoulin.

While he was at McGill, Lightbound represented the school in the Laskin National Moot Court Competition, a competition involving simulated court proceedings. His team won est factum, best team, and second best pair of oralists at the event.

Lightbound is a member of the Quebec Bar Association and practices in the Quebec City region specializing in immigration law. He will soon be admitted to the New York City Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
