Joël Godin

Portneuf–Jacques-Cartier

Conservative

The new MP for Portneuf–Jacques-Cartier has lived in the riding for 15 years. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development, previously having been named the Official Opposition Critic for economic development in the regions of Québec.

Before being elected Godin worked in the office of Sam Hamad, the Liberal MNA for Louis-Hébert. Godin was a constituency assistant and political advisor to Hamad, who is the Minister responsible for the Capitale-Nationale.

Godin worked in communications for most of his career, including at FM93 and CITF. He also worked as sales manager at TQS. In 2008 he started his own business, AJC Communications Inc., a marketing firm. He is a strong advocate for small business owners.

Godin has worked with many different organizations around the community including Carnaval de Québec and the Children’s Wish Foundation.

He says his priority for the region is the renewal of the wharf in Portneuf as part of the Liberal government’s infrastructure investments.
