The new MP for Mission–Matsqui–Fraser Canyon, Jatinder (Jati) Sidhu, is an experienced businessman with almost 30 years experience. He is the CEO and president of Sidhu Group, a company specializing in housing and business development. He was also president of Greenvale Enterprises Inc., an agriculture company. Sidhu owns and operated a number of farms.

Sidhu was a founding member of the Fraser Valley Indo-­Canadian Business Association. The association helped in fundraising to build the Abbotsford Hospice Society, an organization that provides end­-of-­life care and grief support.

Sidhu is a former member of the University of Fraser Valley Board of Governors and of the Abbotsford Police Board. He also served on the board of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce.

Sidhu has said one of his top priorities is working with local municipal governments to invest in infrastructure. He is also focused on agricultural policy, specifically maintaining supply management and increasing stakeholder input in policy and trade agreements.

His is married and has three grown children. His family has lived in the riding for almost 40 years.
