Frank Baylis was first elected as the MP for Pierrefonds–Dollard in 2015.
Prior to his election to the House of Commons, Baylis was the President of Baylis Medical, a company that specializes in the design, manufacturing and sale of high technology products with applications in cardiology, oncology and the vascular system. He received a 2011 Entrepreneur of the Year award from Ernst and Young.
He also set up his own movie production house, Walk of Fame Entertainment and has written a number of screenplays.
Before starting his own business he was the Vice-President of OME Group Consultants. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. In 2014 he won the Alumni of the Year Award.
He is a former Vice President of OME Group Consultants, a management consulting firm.
Baylis has also served on the Life Sciences Sector Advisory Board for the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development.
Baylis has also been active in the Liberal Party. He was the president of the finance committee for the federal Liberals in Quebec, served as the financial agent for the Lac-Saint-Louis federal Liberal Association and was a member of Stéphane Dion’s leadership team.
Baylis is active in the Pierrefonds–Dollard community. He is a volunteer coach with the local ringette league and a Scout leader. Baylis Medical had a group of employee volunteers to raise funds to support programs such as Breakfast for Learning.
