Emmanuella Lambropoulos was elected to the House of Commons in a 2017 by-election. She is the youngest MP in the Liberal Caucus. She won the Liberal nomination for her riding in an upset defeat of former provincial immigration minister Yolande James.
Born and raised in Ville Saint-Laurent, Lambropoulos previously worked on campaigns for former Liberal leader Stéphane Dion, whose seat she now holds.
Before running for office, she was a French and History teacher at Rosemount High School, and closely supported children with learning disabilities in her 6 years teaching at LaurenHill Academy. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from McGill University in 2013, and is also currently completing a McGill Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration.
Lambropoulos is fluently trilingual, speaking French, English, and Greek.
