Dwight Ball is the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador. He took office on November 30, 2015, ending twelve years of Conservative governments over three elections, ousting former premier Paul Davis.
Ball took over as leader of the Liberal party in November 2013, and served as interim leader for two years prior to the leadership vote.
Ball is a chemist by trade, and made a career in local business, which intersects closely with health care. He franchised the Deer Lake Pharmacy as a young entrepreneur, and has since owned several senior care facilities and is involved in real estate and development.
Ball is also a past president of the Canadian Pharmacists Association, and was on the board for the Western Regional Hospital Foundation.
These focuses on pharmacare and seniors care are important opportunities for our members to reach out Premier Ball on these important priorities we have set as part of the Health and Social Accord.
Through his business ventures, Ball has been named Employer of the Year in both the communities of Deer Lake and Springdale.
