Deborah Schulte is the new MP for King–Vaughan. She previously served the region city councillor in Vaughan and a regional councillor for York. She also served on the boards of Powerstream, an energy company, and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
Schulte has a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University. She spent more than two decades working in engineering and management for Bombardier Aerospace.
As a city councillor Schulte served on the Heritage Vaughan committee and the Telecommunications Facility Sitting Protocol Task Force. She was also appointed Chair of the Priorities and Key Initiatives Committee. Before she became a councillor, Schulte was a longtime member of the Humber Watershed Alliance and the Greenbelt Task Force. She also served on the Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation Board of Directors, a nonprofit dedicated to preservation of the Oak Ridges Moraine ecosystem.
Schulte is married and has two sons.
