Darrell Samson has a Bachelor of Education and Master’s in School Administration from the Université de Moncton. He has worked as a teacher and is the former Superintendent of Schools for the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial, Nova Scotia’s only French school board. He has also served as the National President and VicePresident of all French school board superintendents outside of Quebec.
He has said he has wanted to go into politics his whole life. His father was a municipal councillor.
Samson is active around his community. He has been a member of the National Committee for Early Years, and a member of the board the Provincial Advisory Council to the Minister of Education on Early Years in Nova Scotia.
Samson is Acadian, born in Petit-de-Grat, Isle Madame, Nova Scotia. He is passionate about empowering the next generation of leaders. He is married with three adult children. His family has lived in the riding for more than 30 years.
