Active in the Liberal Party since he was a teenager, Angelo Iacono first ran as a candidate in 2011.
He has a BA in Political Science from McGill University. He studied civil law at Université de Québec à Montréal before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa. He was certified as a lawyer by the Upper Canada Law Society and is a member in good standing of the Ontario Bar Association. He also holds a certificate from the European Union & its Institutions at the Law Faculty of Lyon (France). He is the VP of the Association des juristes Italo-canadiens du Québec.
Iacono is involved in many organizations around his community including the Lions Club and Knights of Columbus and works with charities that support the Canadian Cancer Society and the Montreal Neurological Hospital and Institute. He has also been a board member for an nonprofit that works with intellectually challenged adults, Compagnons de Montréal.
Iacono has expressed a passion for policies that address the health care needs of seniors and issues that touch caregivers, having taken care of his own mother for several years.
He is married and has one child.
