Alain Reyes began his career as a math teacher. He has a BA in mathematics and computer science and a Master’s in Educational Administration.
In 2009 he was elected Mayor of Victoriaville. Over the course of two terms he focused on improving infrastructure without raising taxes or going into deficit. During the 2015 election campaign Reyes faced scrutiny after reports that he was still collecting his mayoral salary.
In 2015 he opted to take the next step and run to represent the region in the House of Commons. He won with 32 per cent of the vote. He plans to use his mandate to work with community partners to provide them with the tools they need to thrive. He says he will specifically focus on agriculture and the environment.
Reyes is the Opposition Critic for Infrastructure, Communities and Urban Affairs. He has said he’s looking forward to be part of the rebuilding process in the Conservative Party.
He is married and a father of three.
